Teaching Consultant (Student Learning Advisor)



Job description

Duties

  • Provide academic and personalised support to the students under the Student-Athlete Learning Support and Admission Scheme;

  • Plan, coordinate, and organise local and non-local student development activities of the Department, including Student Chapter, student mentoring, and student advising arrangements;

  • Provide high-quality training for students to prepare them as future leaders; and

  • Coordinate community servicing activities with different stakeholders.
  • Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences with a major in Psychology/Social Work/Sociology/Criminology or related disciplines.

    A Master’s degree or a Doctoral/PhD degree will be an asset for consideration;

  • Experience in providing academic advising or mentoring for students in the tertiary education sector;

  • Good command of English and Chinese;

  • A strong growth mindset and commitment to student development;

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and people skills to work with internal and external stakeholders; and

  • A long-term interest in sports would be a plus.
