Duties
The appointee will actively contribute to the missions of the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences to train highly professional veterinary clinicians, to advance animal health through clinical research and to engage with the local community. The appointee will have a strong focus on teaching of equine surgery and/or sports medicine and rehabilitation across the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM) curriculum to ensure that students can attain Day 1 competences related to equine practice. The appointee will help students integrate and apply knowledge, skills and professional attitudes; integrate with and provide clinical services for our clinical partner, the Hong Kong Jockey Club; and take up administrative work and other duties to facilitate the development of the College and its Departments as a whole. Active involvement in research, as part of a team, is expected.
Requirements
The appointee shall possess a veterinary qualification recognized for registration as a veterinary surgeon in Hong Kong. Board certification (European, Australian/New Zealand, American or equivalent Boards, including ABVP) in equine surgery, equine sports medicine or equine practice is required for appointment at Clinical Associate Professor level or above. For Clinical Assistant Professor, credentials for Board certification should be completed, or near completion. Candidates with a PhD and relevant experience will also be considered. Experience in clinical teaching, service and research is required. A PhD is preferred.
