Job Summary
Support the team leader on portfolio performance of Financial LinesDevelop and maintain strong relationships with local and international brokers and other distributors in support of business retention and acquisitionAssist in formulating and executing underwriting plans for Professional Liability as well as other Financial Lines product when needed and service strategy for these product linesUnderwrite and analyze new and renewal business within delegated authority levels Job Accountabilities
Apply Zurich Underwriting elements for Professional Liability (and others) new business & renewals;Responsible for handling of assigned accounts and works within delegated authoritiesMeasure exposure and analyze risk; determining technical price according to agreed pricing processQuote and set coverage; negotiate terms & conditionsContribute to development and execution of Zurich’s business strategy for Renewal and New Business; build relationships in support of customer/ business acquisition and retention (e.g. by handling a range of queries, providing advice to assist with the development of an account; Implementing agreed technical standards, controls, practices and procedures, thereby maintaining underwriting discipline;Timely update and use of Zurich internal system to proactively manage and improve underwriting and operation efficiencyContribute ideas and work for the development of new or enhanced propositions based on technical, customer and distributor insights Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or typically hold or working towards relevant professional qualification such as ACIIOver 5 years of underwriting experience in domestic or International Program underwriting with extensive knowledge on financial lines productsFluency in English and Cantonese; Mandarin-speaking an added advantageKnowledge in Financial Lines products, with focus on Cyber and Professional IndemnityAdded preference for skills in structuring multinational insurance businessKnowledge of major legal & regulatory issues in Financial Lines in HK and to some extent in overseas markets are added advantageTeam player is a mustOpen mind to try new ways and alternative approaches of doing thingsSelf-starter, proactive, results and execution orientedNegotiation, influencing and selling skillsAbility to develop relationships with key business partnersAbility to build trust based business relationships with customers and producers.Candidates with less experience will be considered for Assistant Underwriting Manager position Why Zurich
