As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Asset Management Team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way.
You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
Executes the design, development, and maintenance of real-time trading user interfaces using React, , NX, and Material UI, applying innovative approaches to solve complex technical challenges.Develops secure, high-quality production code for front-end applications, integrating these with our viewserver via WebSocket to enable live data streaming and synchronization.Produces architecture and design artifacts for trading platforms, ensuring that design constraints and best practices are consistently met throughout the software development lifecycle.Gathers, analyzes, and synthesizes data from live trading environments, developing visualizations and reporting tools to support continuous improvement of user interfaces and system performance.Proactively identifies hidden issues and patterns in application data, leveraging these insights to enhance coding standards, system reliability, and architectural integrity.Contributes to front-end engineering communities of practice, participating in events and discussions that explore new and emerging technologies relevant to trading systems.Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training and certification in software engineering, with a minimum of 4 years of hands-on, applied experience in the field.Proven experience building complex React applications, with strong proficiency in React and TypeScript.Skilled in real-time data handling and integration, leveraging modern programming languages and database querying languages.Familiarity with Storybook for UI component development and documentation, as well as experience with Visual Regression Testing (VRTs) and modern testing frameworks such as Jest and Testing Library.Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and the ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.Comprehensive knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.Solid grasp of agile methodologies, including continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), application resiliency, and security best practices.Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to proactively identify and resolve technical challenges.Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively within diverse, cross-functional teams.Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
