About ICAP

ICAP, part of TP ICAP group, provides a wide variety of execution and information services to wholesale market participants.

We offer broking services covering a wide range of asset classes, including Commodities, Credit, Equities, FX, Money Market Funds and Rates.

For each asset class, ICAP offers e-trading capability, giving clients the option to enter prices and execute trades directly via one of our hybrid electronic trading systems, or to engage with brokers who can identify and negotiate trades.

Role Overview

TP ICAP is seeking a Trainee Broker to join their Hong Kong team.

This is an entry level role into the world of Broking and this opportunity can provide the successful applicant with on-the-job training and exposure to the financial markets we operate within.

We are ideally looking for a bright and enthusiastic individual that can work autonomously and collaboratively in a small team and can think on their feet.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of highly experienced team and would be perfect for somebody looking to start their career in Financial Services.

Role Responsibilities:

·         Arrange or introduce trades from client orders

·         Develop existing and new client relationships.

·         Understand the business objectives of clients.

·         Understand the underlying products being traded by clients and keep up to date with new products and procedures, and regulatory, execution and clearing (if applicable) requirements for those products.

·         Develop new business with existing clients and on-board new clients/traders.

·         Seek to increase the overall revenue of desk.

·         Maintain an updated knowledge of the products and markets and actively solicit feedback from industry participants through various means, including trade calls, surveys, industry events, trade shows and conferences.

·         Understand the desk’s business strategy and seek to identify new business opportunities relating to trends, future markets, products and clients.

·         On-board new clients following the correct process with the Client On-Boarding team.

·         Assess client needs and financial conditions to identify internal cross selling opportunities.

·         Understand pertinent regulation within the evolving regulatory landscape.

·         Support a risk and compliance aware culture and comply with group policies.

·         Exercise independent judgement and act with integrity, care, skill and diligence to avoid conflicts of interest and escalate issues as appropriate.
 

Experience / Competences:

Essential

·         Understands ideas and has a viewpoint on the markets and economy

·         Willingness to engage with internal and external stakeholders outside of the immediate desk environment.

·         Trilingual language skills in Cantonese, Mandarin and English

·         Communicates effectively and efficiently to internal and external stakeholders

·         Builds relationships and networks with both internally and externally wherever possible
