Theappointee will mainlyteach undergraduatecoursesin humanitiesforgeneral education;participatein thedevelopment oftheundergraduate majorprogramin GlobalChinaStudies offeredbytheSchool ofHumanitiesandSocialScience;and assist in the administration of allformsof creativeartseducationprogramssupportedbytheDivision, orjointlyofferedwithotherofficesand institutesoftheUniversity.
Applicants should be dynamic and energetic persons who have a doctoral degree in the field of Music, such as Doctor of Musical Arts, PhD, or Doctor of Fine Arts in a related area.
The application is open to all areas of expertise.
Special consideration will be given to candidates who work in the field of ethnomusicology and those in the field of performance, both as practitioners and educators; those who have experience teaching undergraduate music courses, particularly music theory, composition, music history, and general music appreciation; and those with a solid professional career as a practicing artist.
The successful applicant may also be required to take part in organizing concerts and other art events on campus; relevant experience is advantageous.
