Introduction:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to be the primary quality assurance specialist for critical metal components and assemblies.
This role is essential for maintaining supply chain integrity by focusing on the robust execution of manufacturing processes, particularly stamping, fabrication, and GMAW welding, from design validation through stable mass production.
Responsibilities:
Process and Tooling Validation: Lead the physical inspection and verification of stamping tool conditions at supplier sites, accurately assessing remaining tool life and generating condition reports to determine necessary rebuilds or continued use.Engineering Change Management: Collaborate with internal Central Engineering (COE) teams to review and validate stamping tool designs for all new projects and engineering changes, ensuring process capability prior to tool construction.Non-Conformance Resolution: Act as the technical expert to drive root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent corrective actions for critical quality and production issues related to stamping and assembly processes at supplier locations.Quality Acceptance (PPAP/Buy-Off): Manage and execute all First Article Inspections (FAI) and final buy-off activities for complex stamped parts and finished metal assemblies involving GMAW welding at both primary and sub-tier supplier facilities.Continuous Improvement & Reporting: Prepare detailed weekly and monthly quality and performance summaries for management, highlighting risks, tracking corrective actions, and driving continuous process improvements across the supply base. Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred).Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a Quality or Manufacturing Engineering role focused on metal fabrication processes, including stamping, pressing, and bending.Technical Expertise: Strong practical knowledge of machine tools and proficiency in using precision measuring equipment required for setting up and verifying production processes.Industry Background: Prior experience in the Automotive sector or high-volume metal assembly manufacturing is highly desirable.Travel: Willingness to travel frequently (estimated 50%) to various supplier sites in the Eastern Seaboard region (Chonburi, Chachoengsao, Rayong, etc.).
