Job Posting Details

The appointee will work closely with faculty on research projects/training projects in the areas of family business and family office and have chance to be exposed to international academic institutions, top financial institutions, renowned family businesses and family offices.

He / She is expected to:

  • Assist in both practical and academic research, including literature review, collecting and analysing data, drafting articles, cases, research reports and white papers etc
  • Prepare and conduct interviews with family business owners/entrepreneurs/family office practitioners.
  • Assist in training programs including content design, material preparation and class coordination when necessary.
  • Requirements:

  • A Master’s degree or above in a business-related discipline; strong academic performance and experience from leading institutions will be considered a plus;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Chinese and English, with by strong interpersonal capabilities;
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; proactive and well-organized, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines consistently;
  • Experience in handling both quantitative and qualitative data; familiarity with statistical tools for data processing is preferred;
  • Knowledge or experience in family business and family office is preferred; and
  • Willingness to take on ad hoc tasks as needed.

    About the Center

    The Roger King Center for Asian Family Business and Family Office (“The Center”) at HKUST Business School is one of the most active and productive research and teaching centers in the areas of family business and family office in Asia.

    In particular, the Center is the pioneer in doing research and teaching on family office.

    Roger King’s areas of research focus include succession planning, professionalization, family governance, family philanthropy, wealth management, family office direct investment, impact investing, etc.

    They publish research papers in the international academic journals and column articles on local and international media, and are often quoted by Bloomberg, Forbes, Asian Private Banker, Family Office Times magazine, etc.

    They have also developed a rich collection of Asian family business and family office case studies on prominent families.

    In addition, the Center publishes global and regional industry survey and research report with universities and industry partners around the world.



    The Center provides family business and family office course in full levels at HKUST including DBA, Executive, EMBA, MBA, MSc and UG programs.

    The Center also provides tailor-made training and joint programs for family business and family office owners, financial institutions and universities.

    The center also hosts seminars and forums frequently.

  • 在必要时协助培训项目,包括内容设计、材料准备及课堂协调。
  • 职位要求:

  • 拥有商业相关学科的硕士或以上学位;来自知名院校并具有优秀学术表现者优先;
  • 中英文书写及口语沟通能力优秀,具备良好的人际交往能力;
  • 具备较强的分析能力与注重细节,积极主动、组织能力强,能独立工作并按时完成任务;
  • 有处理定量与定性数据的经验;熟悉数据处理统计工具者优先;
  • 具备家族企业与家族办公室相关知识或经验者优先;
  • 愿意接受临时安排的工作任务。

    关于研究中心
    “金乐琦亚洲家族企业与家族办公室研究中心”(以下简称“中心”)隶属于香港科技大学商学院,是亚洲地区在家族企业与家族办公室领域最活跃且成果丰硕的研究与教学中心之一,尤其在家族办公室研究与教学方面处于领先地位。

    中心主任彭倩教授和资深顾问金乐琦教授的研究领域包括:传承规划、专业化管理、家族治理、家族慈善、财富管理、家族办公室直接投资、影响力投资等。他们在国际学术期刊发表研究论文,并在本地及国际媒体撰写专栏文章,常被彭博、福布斯、Asian Private Banker、Family Office Times杂志等引用。中心还撰写了大量关于亚洲知名家族企业与家族办公室的案例。此外,中心与全球多所大学及行业伙伴合作,发布全球及区域行业调查与研究报告。

    中心在香港科技大学提供涵盖DBA、高管教育、EMBA、MBA、研究生及本科生的家族企业与家族办公室课程,并为家族企业与家族办公室所有人、金融机构及合作大学提供定制培训及联合项目。中心亦定期举办研讨会与论坛。
