The Department of Electronic Engineering (EE) at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is seeking outstanding candidates for Research Assistant Professorship (RAP).
RESEARCH AREA OF INTEREST:
The research focuses on developing advanced sensing technologies that integrate innovative materials, devices, and systems to enable intelligent detection, analysis, and decision-making.
Key areas include sensor design, signal processing, and smart integration for applications in healthcare, environmental monitoring, and beyond.
Applicants should have:
(a) a PhD in Electronic Engineering, Materials Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline;
(b) a strong track record of research and publications in reputable journals and conferences, particularly in areas related to smart sensing;
(c) excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and
(d) potential to become an independent researcher in obtaining future/sustained extramural funding and establishing significant externally-funded research programmes.
The appointee will work closely with Professor Ni Zhao in the Department to enhance the existing strengths.
The appointee is expected to:
(i) be able to have top-tier research outputs and apply for RGC GRF grants and similar external competitive grants;
(ii) undertake some teaching duties at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; and
(iii) provide service at departmental, faculty and/or university levels.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to three years, renewable subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
