C.W. Chu College
Project Assistant II
Founded in 2007 and named after Dr. Chu Ching-wen (1906–1996), C.W. Chu College is a small residential college of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, with a student population of about 300.
Through its general education programmes, mentorship schemes, service-learning programmes, exchange opportunities and many different cultural and social activities for students, the College aims to nurture graduates who embody the values that the late Dr. Chu exemplified, and which are encapsulated in the College motto Cultus et Beneficentia: leadership, service, intellectual clarity and ethical conduct.

The College has an opening for an energetic member to join its Administrative Team.
The appointee will be responsible for (a) monitoring repair and maintenance tasks related to the College’s building, hostel and canteens; (b) providing assistance in procurement of office equipment and stock keeping of fixed assets; (c) collaborating with the hostel team and janitors to ensure smooth daily operation of the College hostel; (d) providing support to the College’s activities, events and communal dining; (e) handling and bookkeeping of payments and fee billing matters; (f) performing general clerical duties, including handling mails, filing and answering telephone and counter enquiries; and (g) performing other tasks as assigned.
Irregular working hours will be required occasionally.
Applicants should have (i) Grade E/Level 2 or above in at least 5 subjects in HKCEE, including Chinese and English (Syllabus B); OR any combination of results in at least 5 HKDSE subjects (including Level 2 or above in Chinese and English): Level 2 or above in NSS subjects, “Attained” or above in ApL subjects (subject to a maximum of 2 subjects), and Grade E or above in other Language subjects; (ii) a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting discipline; (iii) fast and accurate English and Chinese word-processing skill; (iv) at least 2 years’ work experience, preferably at tertiary institutions; (v) proficiency in computer applications (such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint); (vi) a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua); (vii) good interpersonal skills; (viii) a strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation; and (ix) the ability to work independently.
Prior experience in hostel management and/or student activity co-ordination will be advantageous.

Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
