We are looking for a passionate and reliable Part-Time Shop Assistant to join our University Souvenir Shop team on a 4 month contract and renewable.
The HKUST Souvenir Shop offers a wide range of merchandise, gifts, and memorabilia that reflect the spirit and community of HKUST.
Multiple Part-Time Shop Assistants may be hired if suitable candidates are identified.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in retail operations, both online and in-store, at the heart of our vibrant university community.
You will play a key role in ensuring our shop is a welcoming and well-presented space for students, staff, and visitors, while supporting the crucial backend operations that keep our business running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
Visual Merchandising: Handle shop displays and ensure the store is tidy, well-organized, and in excellent condition all the times.Stock Management Support: Assist in stock management for our physical shop and online store, which includes receiving deliveries, organizing inventory, restocking shelves, packing online sales orders, and arranging couriers.Sales Transactions: Handle sales transactions using POS systems.E-commerce Support: Upload high-quality product photographs and accurate product descriptions, price and sizes to our online shop platform.Promotions & Events: Help set up and support in-shop promotions and seasonal campaigns, including University Congregation.Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, greet and assist customers with product inquiries, recommendations, and purchases.General Duties: Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by the Shop Manager in a timely and efficient manner.Who We Are Looking For:
Associate degree or equivalent qualification required, bachelor’s degree is an advantage.2 or more years working experience, preferably in a retail environment.Friendly, proactive, and customer-oriented attitude.Reliable and a true team player.Required to work a flexible schedule that includes Saturdays, Sundays and select weekdays.A keen eye for detail and a pride in maintaining high presentation standards.Basic computer skills (e.g. excel, PowerPoint and word) and the ability to learn new systems quickly (experience with e-commerce platforms is a plus).Experience with e-commerce or online shopping operation would be a bonus.Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication skills with a good command of Cantonese and English; Mandarin is a plus.What We Offer:
