We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic sales leader to join our Hong Kong-based Greater China team to lead the firm’s financial intermediary (FIT) sales efforts across all client segments.
This role reports to the Head of Client Group, Greater China, and the firm is committed to providing the support needed for a fulfilling, rewarding career.
Ideally, you will have experience in the FIT business and a proven track record in leading collaborative teams.
This externally focused role is well-supported internally, allowing you to concentrate on winning new business and growing client relationships.
Responsibilities include developing and executing a comprehensive distribution strategy, managing key client relationships, leading a high-performance team, and collaborating with various internal teams to drive sustainable business growth.
Collaboration is a key part of Capital Group’s success and culture.
You will work closely with Singapore-based and key European FIT sales teams, as well as highly collaborative and non-territorial sales teams across the US, Europe, and Asia to support global FIT clients.
Certain financial institution clients will require a coordinated account management approach with Singapore and Hong Kong-based institutional teams.
The role is based in Hong Kong.
Primary responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the firm's intermediary distribution strategy for Greater China, aligned with Capital Group’s business and financial goals.
Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong partnerships with global and regional financial intermediaries, focusing on scale opportunities and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and retention.
Strategic Partnership: Identify value-beyond product partnership opportunities with key clients to cultivate long-term relationships.
Sales Management: Lead and manage a client-focused and high-performance intermediary sales team, setting performance targets and providing guidance to achieve sales objectives.
Player-Coach approach.
Sales Collaboration: Work as part of a collegial team of sales associates that shares ideas and best practices; align with HK, Asia, and global sales teams.
Internal Partnership: Collaborate closely with internal teams across Asia and Europe, including marketing, product development, asset class services, and client relations, to support sales efforts and enhance client offerings.
Support knowledge transfer of market and client intelligence and evolving investor needs and behaviors to the rest of the firm.
Market Insights & Analysis: Stay abreast of evolving industry and regulatory trends and standards, conduct research and analysis to identify growth opportunities and competitive positioning.
Future-proof: Identify future opportunities to evolve the business through a focus on innovations, simplification, and continuous capability development.
Compliance: Ensure all sales activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Core competencies:
Proven experience in financial intermediary sales, with a strong track record of driving results and success.
Deep understanding of macroeconomics, asset classes, financial products and services, and the Greater China region.
Passionate about client work and client-focused.
Strong business acumen, analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships across different levels, including senior stakeholders in client/prospect organizations.
High EQ.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Requirements:
Minimum 15 years of experience in asset management sales with established relationships with global and regional financial intermediaries.
Team management experience.
Track record of building strategic partnerships and generating business with a diverse clientele.
Fluent in English and Cantonese, with adequate Mandarin.
Some travel required within the sales territory.
