Position Overview
The Global Engagement and Communications Office seeks a seasoned and dynamic event professional to assume the role of Head, Large-Scale Events & Experiences.
This pivotal position is responsible for the end-to-end strategy, development, and execution of the University’s most high-profile events, with a primary focus on the landmark 35th-anniversary celebration.
The ideal candidate will be a master logistician and a creative producer, capable of translating strategic vision into flawless, immersive experiences that enhance our global reputation and deepen stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Event Leadership: Design and execute the overarching event strategy for the 35th-anniversary, encompassing a calendar of high-impact activities from galas and academic conferences to community-wide festivals.End-to-End Project Management: Lead all event phases: from initial concept, budgeting, and venue sourcing to vendor management, run-of-show execution, and post-event analysis.Stakeholder Liaison: Coordinate and collaborate with internal University units, external contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to facilitate seamless program implementation and ensure all event objectives are aligned with the University's brand and strategic goals.Logistics & Production Mastery: Oversee all technical and operational details, including AV production, staging, catering, security, transportation, and guest management, ensuring impeccable quality and seamless execution.Budget & Vendor Management: Develop and manage significant event budgets, negotiating with and managing a wide range of vendors and agencies to deliver world-class experiences on time and within budget.Risk Management & Compliance: Ensure all events adhere to the highest standards of health, safety, and regulatory compliance, with robust contingency plans in place.Qualifications & Experience
A minimum of 10-12 years of progressive experience in large-scale event management.A proven track record of successfully managing events of 500+ attendees, including international conferences, galas, or public festivals, from conception to completion.Exceptional project management skills, with expertise in budgeting, negotiation, and vendor management.Superior communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to confidently present to and advise senior executives.Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing cross-functional teams and committees.Proficiency in event management software (e.g., Cvent, Eventbrite Organizer) and the MS Office suite.A bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
A professional certification (e.g., CMP, CSEP) is a significant advantage.Ideal Candidate Profile

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
