Description
The Faculty is looking for enthusiastic candidates to join a vibrant team focusing on programme administration, teaching and learning activities, planning and developing pedagogy innovation and technologies, as well as education related matters.
Applicants should have (i) a good university degree; (ii) at least twelve years of experience, preferably in academic institutions or health-related organizations; (iii) a minimum of five years’ experience in a supervisory role; (iv) a track record in programme/course administration; (v) excellent command of English and Chinese; (vi) empirical understanding of the needs and interests of internal and external key stakeholders (including the Hospital Authority, The Medical Council of Hong Kong, the Health Bureau, etc.); (vii) excellent communication and organizational skills; and (viii) abilities to handle multitasks, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Depending on the background and experience, suitable candidate(s) will be appointed as Functional Manager and assigned to take on either of the following duties:
Functional Manager (Post A)
(a) managing the undergraduate medical programmes including course and curriculum administration; (b) overseeing post-graduate and self-financed programmes offered by the Departments/Schools; (c) planning the implementation of new education initiatives; (d) liaising with key stakeholders from the Faculty, the Hospital Authority, etc.; (e) overseeing education and professional training projects supported by external funding and professional organizations; and (f) serving as the secretary to support Faculty committees.
Functional Manager (Post B)
(a) coordinating and preparing for the accreditation visits by The Medical Council of Hong Kong; (b) overseeing education and teaching facilities, including planning, coordination and management of bookings and utilization of teaching facilities; (c) serving as the administrative head to oversee and plan activities in the Kai Chong Tong Clinical Skills Learning Centre, and the Centre for Medical and HealthcareEducation; (d) planning activities to engage alumni and doctors from the Hospital Authority in support of teaching and learning activities; and (e) serving as the secretary to support Faculty committees.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to three years, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
