M+ is a museum dedicated to collecting, exhibiting, and interpreting visual art, design and architecture, moving image, and Hong Kong visual culture of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.
Located in Hong Kong’s WestK, we are one of the leading museums of modern and contemporary visual culture in the world.
The museum reflects our unique time and place, building on Hong Kong’s historic balance of the local and the international to define a distinctive and innovative voice for Asia’s twenty-first century.
This role supports M+ Learning and Interpretation team and focus on audience engagement, museum curriculum and pedagogy, and learning programme operations.
You will be responsible for:
assisting in the development and delivery of M+ School Programmes, including tours, talks, workshops, drop-in events, and learning resources;
coordinating with museum educators and supporting the logistics of school visits, including bookings, venue setup, material sourcing, and frontline operation briefings;
assisting in collaborations with artists, makers, and other creative instructors to develop innovative museum experiences tailored for teachers and students;
assisting in programme evaluation (e.g., surveys and feedback analysis) to measure learning outcomes and refine curriculum design;
contributing to research on museum learning, arts education, cross-disciplinary curriculum development, in-gallery pedagogy, assessment and impact measurement, and educator training;
liaising with principals’ associations and teachers’ groups to promote museum visits and learning resources;
providing administrative support for events, communications, and interdepartmental coordination;
assisting with ad hoc tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the Learning and Interpretation team; and
performing any other duties from time to time as reasonably assigned by M+.
You should:
possess a recognized university degree, preferably in Education, Curriculum Studies, Journalism, Language and Communication, Humanities, History, or Theory (with a focus on Arts, Architecture, Film, Design, or Literature) or an equivalent field;
have at least 2 years of experience in programme coordination or event management, preferably in the education sector or an arts/cultural organization; experience in large-scale institutions is an advantage;
demonstrate strong interest in curriculum development, audience engagement, and museum education;
be highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment;
exhibit strong project coordination, research, problem-solving, and administrative skills; and
have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese.
