ROLE


Kennedys is looking for an experienced Associate / Senior Associate to join our Healthcare team in Hong Kong.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, dynamic and global law firm.


TEAM


The Kennedys office in Hong Kong was established in 2000 and has now grown to 10 partners and over 30 lawyers, many of whom are multi-lingual.

As one of the leading international firms in Hong Kong, our core practice areas include insurance and reinsurance, corporate insurance, corporate and commercial, litigation and dispute resolution, financial services and corporate regulatory and compliance, information technology, data privacy, cyber risks, healthcare including medical negligence, casualty and aviation.


As part of the expansion of its Healthcare / Clinical Negligence Team Kennedys is recruiting an associate / senior associate with clinical negligence background.


CLIENTS

  • Hospital Authority

  • Independent hospital groups and practitioners
  • Medical Protection

  • Insured healthcare practitioners
  • WORK

  • Defending a wide range of clinical negligence claims, including complex and high value cerebral palsy and obstetric claims

  • Representing healthcare clients and appearing in inquiries held by regulatory bodies/ councils

  • Representing healthcare clients in criminal investigations and hearings as well as at death inquests

  • Advising on a wide range of issues including capacity to consent to medical treatment, withdrawal of treatment from patients, clinical trials, data privacy and protection as well as employment issues and staff complaints

  • Experienced in taking out urgent application to perform an operation without a patient's consent
  • REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 3 – 5 years' qualified experience in Hong Kong

  • Solid experience of clinical negligence and personal injury litigation for defendants.

  • Excellent command of English and Chinese

  • Excellent knowledge of procedural rules and regulations

  • Excellent organisation skills

  • Strong technical and research skills

  • Experience working both independently and within a team in a high paced environment

  • Strong interpersonal skills
