* Manage progress on local financial crime issues efficiently by coordinating responses to internal audit inquiries and validating issue completion.
* Ensure policies and procedures are regularly maintained and reviewed in line with global requirements to uphold compliance standards.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local regulatory requirements, advising on changes particularly those related to HKMA/AMLO regulations concerning governance, risk assessments, business continuity planning, and outsourcing.
* Provide expert advisory support on financial crime matters including KYC reviews for onboarding requests, periodic reviews, trigger events, trade AML concerns, and sanctions advice.
* Consult on global and regional policy localisation efforts as well as assess impacts of local regulatory changes for effective implementation.
* Review new product approval requests alongside conducting periodic risk assessments of products to ensure alignment with compliance standards.
* Participate actively in global or regional financial crime projects such as system enhancements or rollouts to strengthen organisational defences against financial crimes.
* Collaborate effectively with stakeholders within the Hong Kong branch as well as regional or global teams to foster a unified approach towards compliance objectives.
* Support management reporting needs along with handling ad hoc tasks or team-related matters as required.

You will possess strong analytical capabilities supported by advanced technical skills using tools like Excel for data-driven decision making.
Your interpersonal strengths will enable you to build trustful relationships across departments while communicating effectively with both internal colleagues and external parties such as regulators or auditors.
Ideally holding relevant industry certifications—such as CAMS—you will show commitment to ongoing professional development.
Your fluency in English (and preferably Chinese) ensures seamless collaboration within multicultural teams.
Above all else your dependability reliability sensitivity towards others’ perspectives willingness to share knowledge openly make you an invaluable contributor who thrives within supportive inclusive environments.
* A minimum of five years’ experience in banking compliance or audit roles focused on financial crimes compliance is essential for success in this position.
* Demonstrated project management skills combined with deep expertise in KYC processes or AML/sanctions advisory work are highly valued.
