Job description

Job Posting Details

  • Work on functional polymeric materials for energy-saving applications.
  • Conceptualize product ideas, design and develop new product/ product range, trials, and implementation.
  • Be responsible for characterizing and testing samples from lab-scale to process stages and evaluating the material performance, such as thermodynamic and energy performance analysis of passive technologies, etc.
  • Responsible for R&D to achieve project milestones, writing up project reports, and giving slide presentations from time to time.
  • Work closely with supervisor, project sponsors, and other project-related parties.
  • Be innovative to explore the opportunity of cooperation with industry partners.
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
  • Candidates should have the ability to work independently; good communication and analytical skills, critical thinking, good troubleshooting skills, as well as good command of English and Chinese.

    Articulate report writing/presentation skills, the abilities in literature/patent search and developing new ideas/approaches, creativity and self-motivation are required.

    (Duration: 1 year, renewable)

    Requirements for Assistant Research Engineer

  • A MPhil/MSc degree (for fresh graduate) or a bachelor’s degree with at least 1 year’s post-qualification experience in R&D or equivalent in Polymer, Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in the development and characterization of polymer materials in functional nanocoating would be an advantage.
  • Requirements for Associate Research Engineer

  • A PhD degree (for fresh graduate) or a MPhil/MSc degree with at least 3 years’ post-qualification experience in R&D or equivalent in Polymer, Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Solid knowledge and research experience in the design, fabrication, and characterization of polymer/nanoparticle/ composite.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in the development and characterization of polymer materials in functional nanocoating, microcapsule, and composites would be an advantage.
