Bloomberg’s Chief Risk Office (CRO) Department plays a critical role in supporting our businesses and operations around the world.

The CRO team provides coverage of both Bloomberg's regulated entities and products, and Bloomberg's non-regulated products and services.

Our focus is to address risks and related issues by providing risk management as a service, focusing on providing and delivering value to help businesses and departments thoughtfully incorporate risk into decision making.



The CRO collaborates with other functions, including Legal and Compliance, Finance, Operational Resilience and Internal Audit, to provide centralized risk frameworks, processes, tools, training and advisory services to businesses and departments.

In addition, we are responsible for risk reporting to firm-wide partners and senior management.

In an increasingly regulated global economic environment, we are looking to grow our team, seeking highly experienced Risk professionals.



**What's the Role?**



The Risk Manager for the APAC region will report to the APAC Chief Risk Officer and play a key role in supporting regional risk management activities.

This position is responsible for overseeing the activities within our APAC businesses to identify, assess and mitigate applicable regulatory, operational, financial, and other risks.

The Risk Manager will work closely with regional and global leadership to ensure the organization’s risk profile is aligned with strategic objectives and regulatory requirements in the APAC region.



**We'll trust you to:**



This role will support the APAC Chief Risk Officer to advance regional risk initiatives by:



· Implement established frameworks to identify, assess, and monitor key risks across all business units in the APAC region, including operational and regulatory risks (in partnership with global Chief Risk Office and Compliance partners), with appropriate sensitivity to adapt regional needs and concerns.



· In partnership with Risk Advisory teams, perform risk assessment processes, including the identification and evaluation of emerging risks in APAC; overseeing the strengthening and development of a dynamic and efficient control environment that is proportionate and suitable for the APAC region.



· Collaborate with stakeholders across legal, compliance and regulatory affairs to address regulatory changes and implement policy requirements as they relate to risk.



· Prepare and develop data risk dashboards, metrics, and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to provide visibility to management, relevant committees, and control functions on regional specific risks.



· Oversee the development and maintenance of region-specific risk management policies and procedures



· Deliver training sessions and workshops on risk-related topics to promote a culture of risk awareness and ethical conduct in the region.



· Assist with regional client inquiries on the company’s risk and control programs by ensuring transparent communication of internal frameworks and governance, while supporting due diligence efforts through stakeholder coordination, and translation of complex risk processes into accessible insights that foster client trust.



· Support regional incident response by collaborating across global and regional teams including CRO, Engineering, and other relevant stakeholders—to assist in classification, root cause investigations and contribute to the resolution of major client-impacting service disruptions.



· Enhance regional technology risk oversight by proactively identifying and addressing key regulatory challenges such as data localization, operational resilience, cloud, AI and other emerging data risks for the Company across APAC.



· Collaborate closely with first-line teams to advise on risk-related considerations impacting regional initiatives, proactively identifying and addressing potential risk exposures, operational challenges, and emerging threats to enable risk-aware business growth.



**You’ll need to have:**



· Relevant higher educational and professional background



· 7+ years of experience in enterprise risk management, compliance, or audit



· Deep understanding of regional regulatory environments and financial products.



· Strong commercial judgement and business acumen.



· A lateral thinker and an influencer with good communication and interpersonal skills



· Ability to navigate unstructured environments and fluid situations



· Experience collaborating across complex and matrixed organizations.



· Problem solver with an ability for planning, organizing, and communicating a clear vision



· Self-motivated, with good judgement and ability to work under pressure



**We’d love to see:**



· Experience with information security risk, technology risk, and operational and resilience risk.



· Familiarity with financial markets and products, including electronic trading platform and operations



· Professional certifications (e.g., CRM, FRM, CERA)
