Purpose of the Role:

The role of APAC eCommerce product lead has the autonomy and support to execute the eCommerce product vision across APAC.

This role is accountable to set the tone for strong working relationships with internal teams and external customers and partners, defining the APAC eCommerce solutions and product roadmap and leading the team to deliver.

A crucial leadership position in the APAC product team, that acts as the intersection between GP customers, country and region leads, technology teams, finance and third party vendors.

To bring this role to life requires the skills and understanding of all elements of the product life cycle; working with country leads and marketing to map market research (identifying trends and recommending new product opportunities), defining the product strategy, working with technology teams to deliver and complete ongoing analysis of product commercialisation and performance.

Responsibilities:

Product domain: eCommerce Payments

  • Leadership of the eCommerce domain across APAC, including a team of up to 7 team members.

  • Encourages and drives innovation within the product domain and organisation.

  • Passion to mentor, coach and develop product managers and team members.

  • Technical understanding of eComm card payments (settlement and authorisation) and third party authorisation optimization.

  • Experience with integration layers including shopping carts, plug ins, SDKs and HPPs.

  • Experience utilising fraud solutions, including tokenisation.

    Work with the International product organisation to determine a suite for APAC customers.

  • An understanding with digital wallets, alternative payment methods (QR) and local payment methods across the APAC region would be highly regarded.

  • Product strategy and thought leadership

  • SME for domain, leading conversations with key partners and representing GP needs.

  • Defines the strategy for their product domain across APAC to represent the needs of existing and future customers, acting as their voice inside the business and being passionate about the user experience.

  • Product development using a variety of techniques including customer visits, interviews, questionnaires, user observation, workshops, brainstorming, use cases, and prototyping to determine what products and features to build and enable.

  • Understand the competitive landscape of payments and payment-related industries using data and insights to drive the solution and deliver effective feature sets within APAC..

  • Partners with the International product organisation to understand key global developments of product to bring best in class solutions to market and export best in class solutions to the world.

  • Product discipline and ways of working

  • Experience leading product teams who create well defined feature definition as per the defined product development lifecycle, collaborating with agile development teams and colleagues in multiple regions.

  • Lead roadmap planning for domain, supporting product managers to create well defined product briefs, manage and prioritise the product backlog across different activities in the region.

  • Work with country managers to prioritise and deliver new product design, development and product improvement activities.

  • Lead feature/design workshops to drive alignment and creativity in solution design.

  • Own go-to-market approach for domain, effectively communicating upcoming releases internally and externally.

  • Lead change management processes associated with assigned products, engaging with teams early to ensure understanding, buy-in and optimal operational process are put in place to support any launches of product updates/changes.

  • Manage the product lifecycle for domain, including end of life and withdrawal of products and features from the market.

  • Target state architecture

  • Consolidate target-state process maps for domain with an initial focus to deliver Target Architecture Model (TAM) in partnership with the International product organisation.

  • Strategic review of all vendors with roadmap to deliver TAM and commercial analysis of vendor relationships to ensure best fit for Global Payments.

  • Design and articulate product placement for the domain.

  • Take ownership of the domain.

    Work with teams and stakeholders to solve product related problems, and own decisions to ensure the right outcome is delivered.

  • Establish and manage third party vendor relationships across the value chain where appropriate.

  • Drive commercial outcomes

  • Lead the domain with a client first approach and a commercial mindset.

  • You are commercially astute, working with sales partners to create business cases in order to obtain funding for product build.

  • Work with product operations to report on product performance in market to the APAC senior leadership team and country managers to help inform decisions on product roadmap and lifecycle.

  • Work with finance, marketing, and sales to deliver competitive pricing strategies and creation of sales / customer assets.

    Experience and Expertise 

  • 10+ years' experience as a Product Manager covering the full breadth of product design, development and life cycle management in a hardware or software solutions based organisation, ideally within payments, FinTech or eCommerce.

  • A people first mindset.

    Leadership of up to 7 people to support product development and delivery activities.

  • Passionate about delivering great customer experiences and bringing products to life that scale, representing the voice of the customer.

  • Resilience with a growth mindset to continually refine and improve experiences.

  • Ability to think strategically and communicate the big picture to take the business on your product journey.

  • You are a collaborative operator who can bring together diverse perspectives from across the business and prioritise product solutions to deliver the greatest value.

  • Self-starter who can lead teams in a fast moving environment to drive the product roadmap forward, maintaining momentum on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Commercially minded with the ability to analyse product profitability when prioritising solutions as part of the product roadmap.

  • Demonstrated values of Passion, Care, Accountability, Excellence and Ingenuity to collaborate with team and deliver outcomes in a global matrix organsiation.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex issues to senior management, developing strong internal and external relationships.

  • Demonstrated delivery of product across the APAC region and an understanding of payments product requirements across the region.

  • Knowledge and/or experience working in an agile environment.

  • Being adept in project management including experience using various project management techniques would be advantageous.
