The Department of Philosophy at Lingnan University is one of the best in Asia.
Faculty members publish in leading journals in the field.
The department currently operates two undergraduate programmes, one 4-year and one senior-year programmes, and supports two 1-year taught postgraduate programme.
The Department also admits postgraduate research students leading to the award of MPhil and PhD degrees.
The Department is currently seeking to appoint an Administrative Officer.
The appointee is expected to provide a wide range of administrative support to the upcoming 2-year senior year undergraduate programme and other research-related activities in the Department.
Responsibilities
•Assisting the Head of Department in planning, coordinating, and administering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
• Performing a wide range of administrative duties related to organising events and seminars to ensure the smooth functioning of the Department, and handling financial and budgeting matters
• Providing secretarial support to the Head of Department/committees, teachers, and offering advisory assistance to students
• Preparing relevant reports related to programme administration
• Liaising with internal and external parties and coordinating professional development activities (internships, seminars, or workshops)
• Providing support to the Department’s research-related activities, including but not limited to assisting in RAE exercises
• Performing other duties as assigned
Requirements
• A recognised Bachelor’s degree with at least one years of relevant experience, preferably in the tertiary education sector
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
• High level of competence in computer literacy
• Good team spirit with a strong sense of responsibility and a willingness to go the extra mile to complete tasks before deadlines
• Initiative, report writing ability, and analytical skills to carry out duties independently and efficiently
• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision
