Job description

Duties

  • Handle accounting matters including preparation of journal entries and various reports and analysis for University's various operations;
  • Prepare accounting schedules and financial statements for month end closing and annual audit purpose;
  • Assist in preparing various reports and returns to fulfil the requirements of the UGC and other Government departments;
  • Assist in vetting financial proposals for various projects / activities including self-financing programmes, conferences and consultancy projects; and
  • Perform any ad hoc duties as assigned.


  • Requirements


    A Diploma/Sub-degree in Accounting or related disciplines, preferably with at least 2 years’ relevant experience preferably in sizeable organisations.


    Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); strong analytical skills; strong sense of responsibility with initiatives; mature working attitude; and ability to work independently are required.


    Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (including Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint); experiences in handling sizeable ERP systems and hands-on experience in Oracle Financials would be an advantage.


    Candidates with more than 6 years’ experience may be considered for appointment as Accounting Officer I.


    Immediately available is preferred.


    Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

    Salary and Conditions of Service


    Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

    Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
