Accountant II (carrying the job title of ‘Assistant Finance Manager’)
The appointee will be responsible for (a) handling matters relating to expenditure payment, accounting, budgeting, taxation, auditing and finance for the University’s PRC projects and entities; (b) reviewing the financials and budgets for the University’s cross-border project funding applications; (c) performing funding control, compiling progress and completion reports of the University’s cross-border projects, and handling enquires from project teams and funding parties; (d) conducting financial performance review, preparing management reports and annual accounts and filing tax return for the University’s subsidiaries; (e) liaising with PRC and HK auditors for year-end statutory audits; (f) overseeing the accounting and budgeting functions of the University’s student hostel; and (g) taking up ad-hoc assignments.
Applicant should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree; (ii) a professional qualification in accounting (i.e. a qualified member of HKICPA or equivalent); (iii) at least 5 years’ post-qualification experience in accounting in a computerized environment in a large organisation, public sector organisations or higher education institutions; (iv) good analytical ability, attentiveness to details, strong interpersonal and communication skill, the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and independently, and a good command of English and Chinese (including Putonghua); and (v) proficiency in administering computer applications, such as SAP, Excel, Word, etc.
Having good work experience in preparing PRC financial accounts and managing cross-border project grants, and knowledge of PRC taxation and Kingdee accounting software will be highly preferred.
Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
