The Account Manager (AM) Intermediaries takes ownership of the account administration, documentation formalities and tasks during daily operations and throughout the account lifecycle, from onboarding to maintenance.
This is accompanied by a greater level of independent client interaction and client servicing.
In contrast to the Relationship Manager (RM), the AM does not have their own client book.
However, he/she is expected to reach out to and interact with clients directly, where appropriate and in close collaboration with the RM.
The AM is expected to demonstrate excellent professional, personal and social skills when liaising with clients and relevant stakeholders.
The AM ensures successful operational client account management, through autonomous interaction with both internal and external stakeholders in the scope of their role.
The AM provides clients with relevant information and further support the RM in all aspects of client servicing.
The AM acts as a role model in bringing the best service quality to clients, RMs and Group Heads.
If the candidate demonstrates leadership skills and strong organizational abilities, he/she may additionally take on responsibilities to lead other AMs in the team.
YOUR CHALLENGE
CLIENT ADMINISTRATION AND MANAGEMENT
Proactively takes the lead in supporting the RM and team in client interaction, in an independent and professional manner covering all aspects of account managementEnsures accurate and high-quality client relationship document formalities are always met and maintained to a high standard, with all tasks/system alerts clearedActively maintains client key data in liaison with the RM to ensure data sets are correct for good maintenance of the relationshipSupport the RM in organizing and/or participating in client meetings (where appropriate) and can lead parts of the meeting related to account administration (e.g. documentation formalities, compliance, other requests of the client)Compiles presentations and supports in marketing activitiesPromotes and services dedicated Intermediaries e-channelsBUSINESS MANAGEMENT
Supports the RM in investigations and troubleshooting, maintaining close bank-internal cross-team/division collaborationParticipates in the internal projects which impact the account relationships of the RM, directly solving the administrative issues, ensuring all relevant systems are maintained and updated, and all documentation is in placeProvides professional input on proposals for improvements based on experience, incident occurrence or observationCan deputise the RMs in day-to-day matters for certain agreed topicsIs typically the go-to person for new AMs and have relevant experience in the induction process to share knowledge and best practices in terms of systems, data, processes, and client interactionRISK MANAGEMENT AND CONTROLS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Relevant work experience as Assistant Relationship Manager or Account Manager of at least 5 years, together with a job-related education background, Bachelor degree, or similarProven track record in servicing banking clients with complex needs (onboarding of new clients, maintaining and extending current relationships)PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
Knowledge of financial markets: structure, function and legal/regulatory environment as well as industry awarenessAdvanced understanding of relevant products and services applicable to External Asset Management clients, plus valuation principlesStrong fluency in English (oral and written) and Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin) according to the local market requirementExcellent MS Office skillsPERSONAL AND SOCIAL SKILLS
